Alabama Crimson Tide Update…

Posted by The Chosen Blogger on Feb 18, 2008

Due to a recent situation concerning the status of LSU’s Quarterback Heir Apparent Ryan Perrilloux, I have been forced to amend my score prediction for the Alabama/ LSU game. Here is what I had written…

LSU, 11/8/07, Baton Rouge: The Bengal Tigers lose about 10 starters from this year’s top ranked team. While LSU will have talent at each position, that talent will no longer be able to cover up Les Miles’ simply idiotic coaching. LSU will continue to be undisciplined and will make too many mistakes. Look for Alabama to take back Baton Rogue and win their second in November…Bama 27-17.

Here is my updated prediction.

LSU, 11/8/07, Baton Rouge: The Bengal Tigers lose about 10 senior starters from this year’s top ranked team. Along with these massive losses, LSU’’s relatively experienced and very talented Quarterback Ryan Perrilloux is, for all intents and purposes, off the team. While LSU will have talent at each position, that talent will no longer be able to cover up Les Miles’ simply idiotic coaching. LSU will continue to be undisciplined and will make too many mistakes. The loss of their experienced quarterback should only seal the deal more for the Crimson Tide. Look for Alabama to take back Baton Rogue and win their second in November…Bama 27-7.

Next Year’s SEC…Right Now! UPDATED 2/18/08

Posted by The Chosen Blogger on Feb 12, 2008

This is, as far as I’m concerned, the most awful, saddest, most miserable time of the year. Football is over, done, caput…and I have to wait two months for the Masters (I could care less about round-ball). So, in order to keep my mind occupied on what is important in life, I have decided to, over the next 12 weeks, predict the SEC game by freaking game.

I know I know…it’s entirely too early. Spring practice has not even started and no one could possibly know what is going to happen a month after the end of the ‘07-’08 season. I say to those nay-sayers: ‘DAMN THE TORPEDOES…FULL SPEED AHEAD.” I will let history judge my predictions…so you have every right to call me out at the end of next year’s football season…it will only make me work harder to predict the ‘09-’10 season.

So…without tarrying any longer, I present to you the first entry of my 12 week foray into the crystal ball. I give you…THE SEC WEST….

Running Diary: Independence Bowl featuring Alabama Crimson Tide and Colorado Buffalos

Posted by The Late Spider Moltisanti on Dec 30, 2007

As Always all times are Central Time Zone

Interesting match up here, two mediocre teams from major conferences. This is how you decide which conference is better; have two mid tier teams (Bama from SEC and Colorado from Big 12) play each other, it’s not the top teams that determine how good a conference is but the teams that are played each week by the top teams.

7:07 - Kickoff and Alabama has it. Gotta admire Nick Saban’s decision to receive the ball to start the game. His QB John Parker Wilson hasn’t played well since about mid season and he puts the ball in his hands to start the game. Might be the best way for JPW to get his confidence back or it might be the best way to give Colorado and early takeaway. We shall see.

Running Diary: Perfection on Hold

Posted by The Late Spider Moltisanti on Dec 3, 2007

All times are Central Time Zone

9:01 P.M. - The New England Patriots are tied at halftime with the Baltimore Ravens at 10 a piece. Kyle “I shoulda been a” Boller has a better QB rating at halftime than Tom Brady. Boller has thrown for more yards and one touchdown to Brady’s one interception. He should frame the halftime stat sheet because that might be the only time he looks better than a Hall of Fame quarterback.

9:11 - Unhighlight of first half. Ravens receiver Derrick Mason doing his best Michael Jackson impression after scoring a touchdown. Derrick, we loved it when Donovan McNabb did it on Monday Night Football when he and T.O. played together.
Highlight of first half, seeing those cheap shot artists on the Patriots have the cheap shots returned by Ray Ray and God’s defense. If there is one team that you know won’t back down to the late hitting Rodney Harrison and Mike Vrabel, it is the Ravens D. They might lose by 30, but damnit if they don’t try to hurt you.
Honorable mention. Seeing Tom Brady whine like he is that guy who takes flag football too seriously. He cried to the ref three times looking like a 10 year old saying “he didn’t get my flags”.

College Football Saturday Gameday: A Running Diary

Posted by The Danza on Nov 10, 2007

10:00 AM - Ok, I thought I was dreaming last night when I saw the College Gameday crew broadcasting from Williams College for the Williams-Amherst game. Apparently, I was not. Auburn-Georgia, anybody? Nothing better than seeing college-aged, rich, white kids wearing fake, foot-long dollar bill chains.

10:04 - Chris Fowler, “If you can’t play here, you can’t play anywhere.”

10:05 - This is the first time College Gameday has broadcasted from a Division III school. It may also be the last. Read the rest of this entry »

College Football Saturday — A Running Diary

Posted by The Danza on Nov 3, 2007

10:34 am - I have successfully woken up after staying up until 4:00 a.m. writing on this blog. Seeing that it’s still dark on College Gameday in Eugene, I think I should go back to sleep. All I have heard so far is how good Oregon and Arizona St. are, so it may be a good idea just to start this day over. I tend to agree with them on Oregon, but Arizona St.? I respect Oregon in the Pac-10, because they have a great fanbase, and the state of Oregon doesn’t make me think of punk music, surfers, or retired people. All I can think of when I think of Arizona St. is retired people and Dennis Erickson, who should be included in the prior set as well.

10:37 am - Why do so many people like Matt Ryan for Heisman? Did anybody watch the first 58 minutes of the game against Va Tech last Thursday? Ryan trying to throw on a good Va Tech defense was like watching Cleo Lemon try to pass on the 1st-string Patriots a couple of weeks ago.

10:43 am - It looks like College Gameday is setup right in the middle of Grizzly Man territory. Woods, fog, ducks, hairy people. Read the rest of this entry »
